Ratings Key
Stability - This refers the feeling you get when you are on the unit. The main factor in this is the weight of the unit. The width of the unit also plays a factor.
Cushioning - This is an indication of the shock absorption system used in the unit.
Quietness - This rates the overall noise level of the machine.
Warranty - Rates the warranty in comparison to other units in the same class.
Smoothness - Rates the feel of the unit as you are walking or running. This would indicate if there is any hesitation when you step on the belt.
Reliability - Rates the overall reliability of the treadmill and it's components.
Bed & Belt - This is a rating that is an indication of the relationship between the bed and belt. This rates the amount of friction between the bed and belt, as well the quality of deck surface. It also rates the amount of maintenance required to keep the bed and belt in good working order.
Shopability - This rates how competative the market is for that particular brand of treadmill. Some treadmills can only be sold by certain local dealers, this can make getting a good price almost impossible.
Value - This is an indication of quality based on the price of a unit.
Overall - This is an overall rating that is weighted on the more important aspects of a treadmill.
